Ro (fluid pronouns)
is a licensed clinical social worker in the field since 2015
It’s nice to meet you!
My name is Ro. I’m Trans Genderfluid, non-binary, and neurodivergent.
I attended Rutgers University where I obtained a BA in Philosophy and a Master’s in Social Work.
As a social worker I work hard to bridge connections between individuals and the world that holds us. Throughout my life I’ve been involved in change movements and get fired up from watching others tap into the power they hold inside. Through my first protest, at age 14 marching through the streets of Newark demanding more funding for my high school, I saw first hand how power is amplified through collective action. Throughout college I connected with campus groups to register students to vote, put pressure on local elected officials to take action on climate change, and even had a chance to lobby Congress to demand fairer terms and debt relief for student loan borrowers.
In all this I’ve come to recognize that living a good life is a team sport!
Since becoming a social worker I’ve been able to continue this work in a variety of settings. On the community level, I’ve helped support vulnerable older adults access the care and services they need at an adult care center. Throughout the COVID 19 quarantine and pandemic my work in the hospital setting as an Intensive Care Unit and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit social worker allowed me to serve as a resource for individuals and families coping through grief, loss, and fear as the world around us changed dramatically.
I hope to continue serving my clients in a way that responds to their needs not just on a individual level but on a national and global level too.
My sincerest hope in all this is to help create a world that feels safer, freer, and more interconnected.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time in nature, being active through mind-body-spirit, collecting plants and so many stickers, creating things with my hands, and spending time with the people I love. I’m always looking for more opportunities to build community and strengthen the connections around me.
